Hi can you please help me having watching the programs on TV about tracing your family and that access to the census if free but having look at the 1901 & 1911 census both are saying that you have to pay is this correct or are the TV programs telling lies that it is free even the news said the access the new 1911 census to it was free?
and the feed back email address is not valid feedback@1911censua.org.uk

Hi
What you can do for free is a search of the index and get back basic information - however if you want to see the transcript of the census or the image of the actual census record you have to pay, either a subscription or pay-per-view. If you live near the National Archives in Kew you can go there and view it all for free but that doesn't help much if you don't live nearby. Also many public libraries offer free access to ancestry which will give you the 1901 census.
p.s. the feedback address is feedback@1911census.org.uk ... census,not censua
